What is Communism? “Though the term “communism” can refer to specific political parties, at its core, communism is an ideology of economic equality through the elimination of private property”. (Live science, n.d.) The system came to prominence with the help of German philosopher Karl Marx who is looked up at as an iconic figure. The reason for this being his work on the Communism Manifesto, which shaped the communist party. How he believed it should be accomplished, however, was another story” (Hoyt, n.d.)
